I agree with Charles that we've basically put the railgun to bed.
Let's do something a smidge diffferent this time and go for a non-weapon
system. I remember a request from before to look at the AFHAWKS.
AF-SMLs (or AFHAWKS) [GZG-LISTers] (24-Dec-00)
Mass/Cost= As normal SM round
Effect: Vs. ships: None Vs. Fighters: as KV Scattergun Range=12 MU Intercepts
fighters with short duration high accuracy drives and electronics. Light
warhead is ineffective vs. ships, but kills fighters effectively. Fired
through SML launcher arcs only. Fires in PDS phase, does not require firecon.
Can fire as ADFC. Can only be used by a sml that has
not fired a anti-ship round that turn.

A couple of points 1) I take it these can also be used against missiles
(SM or MT) - can they be used against Plasma Bolts?
2) Of course, the any ship using these must have had them loaded at the
start :-)
These work a lot like Sa'Va'Sku interceptor pods (range 12 mu, kills 1d6
fighters or missiles, reduces plasma bolts by 1 beam die without
re-rolls).
Has anyone tried using these?
G'day guys,
> Mass/Cost= As normal SM round
So its basically the human equivalent of an SV interceptor pod? I'd make it
need a functioning FC to fire it (the cost of not placing it in the SM phase).
I'd also think about dropping it to 6" range ( haven't done any hard numbers
on it, but it seems fair as that's what the KV get and Humans don't have to
pay for the power generators like the SV do).
Cheers
