Wondering if someone could help me to find a place here in the US to buy piano
wire. No, I'm not planning on practicing Special Forces techniques to silence
sentries - I want to base some FT fighters on "flying
stands". Is a music store an obvious answer?
Thanks,
How about a hobby store? Hobbytown USA (if you're near one) has piano wire by
K&S. It comes in about 3 foot lengths for a quarter apiece, and they have many
different thicknesses. Personally, I use it to pin miniatures, including my
bigger FT ships.

I use straight pins, the head makes the fighter 'stick'
better (after a slight drilling). The other major advantage,
cheep, cheep, cheep!
Bye for now,

You know, when I'm in a multiplayer game involving diplomacy, I'd make a
statement like this and it would be the exact truth. And I wouldn't say
anything about "silencing lawyers...."
K&S Brass and Aluminum tubing is sold in most Hobby stores, they also sell
piano wire. Check your nearest modeling supplier if your hobby store doesn't
stock. I've lately switched to florist's wire, it's softer and can be shaped
to form spear points, etc., and is available at Micheals, Ben Franklin or any
place that sells ladies craft supplies.
