Hello: I've just updated THE PAGE. Here are the most recent changes:

I added Marshall Grover's B5 rules, Alan Blain's Star Trek rules

revisions, and Phil Pournelle's Star Wars crossover rules.

Later,

Sometimes I wonder why I bother existing.

Now, now, don't worry -- all Sun has to do is to create a web-capable

There, that isn't so bad now, is it?

No I wrote the Java version. Well, actually I did write an Excel spreadsheet
but I stopped using it because I didn't like carting Excel around with me
everywhere I went. Funny thing is that the last time I tried to run my Space
Dock applet it didn't work. Unfortunately, this doesn't really mean anything
because I'm behind a firewall and the security restrictions get really strange
from back here.

If you're curious, you can find it at

Well, I guess not but in actuality all we have to do is get the confounded AWT
(graphics interface) to work exactly the same on all platforms and then let
someone else write Excel for Java. As for translating files and the like, I
don't think it's of great use for a ship construction program.

Maybe I'm wrong, though - it might be interesting to have one of
these programs turn out FT ship descriptions in various internet-ready
formats (for programs such as ftmap or whatever). One courageous tester of my
ship construction applet suggested just this but I never got around to
implementing it.

Did you do another excel sheet for ft construction?

Relax. I've used your Space Dock and have even included a link to it on my
PBEM page. It made my job easier for the tournament preparation.

Thanks for your work, joachim!

Very true. Except that it's unlikely that it'll be Sun writing the
application. Hey, maybe, I don't know, but the most likely scenario is that
someone else will write it. And if Sun does write it and does leave out
features to work with legacy systems, then you can bet someone else will write
a version that really works and ours won't sell. Capitalism in action.
