Well, according to an posting on R.G.M.M,

"...Paul Perry, and KR of Geo-Hex have signed a letter of Intent for the
Exclusive North and South American rights to Ground Zero Games. This deal
includes all molds and figures for the following lines: Stargrunt Dirtside
Full Thrust Microtac along with other Misc. Items. I have major plans to
improve the casting quality of the Pewter and resin kits (aka get them cleaned
up). And will also be working to bring over a lot of the UK line to the US. (
Hammers Slammers, Additional Fleets for FT,
etc.)..."

Anyone know what this means for us, the US GZG customer, on a practical level?
Is this a good thing, a bad thing, or just a thing?

Sounds like it's just some legal bumf regarding the casting license which
shouldn't affect distribution or availability.

Probably best for KR or JT to confirm what this is about.

Aside from GZG FT minis I'm not very "mini-savvy". Who is Paul Perry
and does he already do another line of minis? Are they any good?

Thanks, Nathan

Well, according to some of the miniatures newsgroup Paul Perry is either the
Devil or Satan. Some are bothered by his Anti-GW at all costs stance and
his ability to jump into a flame war and make a total *ss of himself. He has
been caught sock-puppetting to support his point
He started up Gamers Against Unethical Companies (GAUC) - but then
dropped it for a myriad of excuses when he had to do more than appoint
officers. He at one time supported Atlantis Games/Enigma - and then
"faked" a personal email as a post that reamed their newest product as little
more
than a GW rip-off.
Still, most people that have done business with him across the
newsgroups have reported good results - if a bit slow. He admits to
screwing
up a couple of orders, but he said he made good on all of them - and
there are enough testimonials to back him. This can all be had by doing a
DejaNews search on the miniatures
group -
or live through it. As far as I know he has never produced a line of
miniatures - but he has run his own gaming store (until it went under)
and recently he has been hammering the newsgroup with his sale on closeout
merchandise from other stores (in they gray spam/individual sale area).

Personally, I would hate to see him get his hands on the molds because his
online presence definitely stinks of someone a few suits short of a full
deck - but as long as he continues on his medication and keeps his
business separate from himself things should continue on as normal (or some
close proximity). Plus I am sure that Sir John will have some method in the
contract allowing him to regain control of the US molds if things hit the
toilet.
