Well Jon T....What favorite FT fleets do you use in battle? What DS forces?

When I actually get to game (which is not very often - usually for demo
games at shows and playtesting new bits of rules!) I guess my personal
favourite is the NSL fleet - they are I what I think spaceships "should"
look like. Having said that, I don't really have a decent fleet of painted
ships apart from the few we use for demos - you know the one about the
cobbler's children being the worst shod, well we seem to be so busy making the
damn things to sell to other people I never get the chance to build my own
collection!!

Much the same goes for DSII stuff as well - I've got a couple of decent
sized forces that we use at the shows, but they are not specific nations
-
just a "green force" and a "brown force"! They are actually a mix of stuff
from years of collecting - some CMD (of course), some Scotia, some
Battletech (vehicles, not mechs), some OGRE stuff and various other oddments;
including some great little old QT Models hovertanks from the
early eighties that turn everyone else green when they see them - you
can't get them anymore... (smug mode off...)

Hope that answers your question!

Big, blocky, dangerous looking with no fiddly bits. They're my favourite too.
Apart from the Kra'vak of course. Railguns are just so much fun.

As a matter of interest, what do you use to balance the Kra'vak fleet against
the humans, Jon? IS FT3 likely to sort those aliens out?

Don't have any modern/future mini's for ground games. My friend and I
have been playing with several sets of middleages figures that he bought out
of the comic books (you know, 100 figs for a $1...the ones we are using are
the survivors...) We used to play on his basement floor until he moved. It was
a blast.
