What do FT/MT players use to represent missiles?

What do you use to represent missiles -- especially those of you who
like to fire swarms of them? Perhaps you currently use paperclips, paper
cutouts, poker chips, or pennies.

Superior Models is thinking about re-releasing their line of Starfleet
Wars missiles (also know as CAPTACs), but can't guage the demand. Would any of
you actually spend a little more money for miniatures that look more deadly?

I don't know about anybody else, but I'd like to see a photo (or at least a
sketch) of what they look like.

One guy in our club bought a pack of weapons for model makers (basically
missiles, drop tanks, and bombs for aircraft), painted them up and mounted
them. They look great as missiles, but they are a bit on the large side. What
are the sizes of these missiles?

We use counters from my Alpha Omega game. Sometimes it helps to have nice
small stackable counters when you have a lot of missiles coming in at the same
target. Depending on what the miniatures look like though we would probably
consider them.

I already have a small stack of things I use for missiles from an aircraft
ordnance pack I picked up a few years ago. I don't normally fire all that many
missiles in my games to begin with, so those have sufficed me fine. So I
prolly wouldn't pick up any additional.

We use suitably sized missiles / bombs / rockets from 1/72nd or
1/144th scale aircraft kits, mounted on wire stands to bring them up
to the height of the ships.

I use streamlined/spinner sinkers I found in the fishing section of a
K-mart. They are bullet shaped and were about 10 for 50 cents(us).

This is not to infer that a market does not exist, I am certain that many
people would like to acquire some sharp looking missiles for game use.

Silent Death Deluxe has an excellent set of torpedo models. This come in five
different colors representing their damage size. The models are numbered. I
use the different colors to represent the different missile types in FT.

They also provide missile pack models in gray. These things are huge and ugly
(lots of flash), but could be used for scatterpacks (estetics rather than
rules) or for missile salvos (when we get the Fleet supplement in the US).

Perhaps the plastic model sprues can be bought from ICE, who makes Silent
Death Deluxe.

My husband actually uses 1/3000 derrigibles (zepplins - in case my
spelling sucked as usual) and they look pretty good. Cheers

Yes they can. I bought them last year at GenCon. ICE sells them in separate
packs. They sell ship stands separately as well.

I use these for FT and Silent Death.

I use round-head sewing pins--1.5" long with a .15" diam. colored
plastic ball for the head. Stick them in a small wooden disk with
some glue, paint the base and pin-shaft matte black, and voila!
And they're already color-coded. They're also be good for mines
and SMPs (I'd use black ones for mines!).

I'd buy a missile model if it wasn't too big or too expensive Especially
playing the Honor H rules variants. I' think it would look better and worth
the cost

If you make something that looks like a photo/plasma torpedo I'd
also be very interested.

I use the torpedo/missile salvo models from the Silent Death: The Next
Millenium box. There are far more of them than I'm ever going to need in a
single FT battle :-/

One of the old Future Wars SAM vehicles came with separate missiles that look
about the right size. I don't know what the name of the vehicle was, or if it
is back in production.

Maybey Jon could release them separatley as FT missiles?

Just picked up a new Silent Death fig pack called the "Agni" There are three
FT Light cruiser sized warships that fir in very well with the "Aliens Sulaco"
style fleet. Coupled with my "Nemesis" and "Javelin" SD figs, along with my
Omega DD from AoG they are ready to strike fear and terror!!

These zepplins ( I'm no good at spelling either) are part of the Hallmark
Figurehead naval range and are actually 1:6000 scale.

I myself will be using the ordnance from the Dirtside 6mm range, available
from Eureka and GZG for definate and I would guess from Geo-Hex as well.

I've scanned in a pic of all 5 of the CAPTACs. They range in length from 15mm
to 23mm depending on the style. Some of them would really look cool mounted on
a base and used in a fleet battle. I sent the pic to GameMasters and hopefully
it will show up on his website soon.

I agree that the SD plastic torpedos are very useful for any game that needs
"missile" counters.
