I would understand the rules from MT as limiting the wave gun to one install per ship. Of course, you could make your own option for this weapon like the parallel spinal mounts found in Traveller. The parallel mount gave the architect the option to install two spinal mount weapons of the same type and configuration in either a fore or aft firing position. IIRC, when you fire a wave gun, you may not fire other weapons. This should include the other wave gun. However it does reduce your need to recharge. (one gun is charging while the other fires) and increases the risk of 'accidental' detonation.
