Just wondering something....
I've played RPG's about as long as I've played wargames. In fact, I've
probavly spent far more hours at RPG's.
Now, I've really become taken with the DSII wargaming system, and from the
lively discussions on this list, I'm guessing people are equally fond of FT
and SG.
My question stems equally from my curiosity, my lack of knowledge of SG, and
my own fervid brain.
How feasible would it be to construct an RPG using SG II as the basic
foundation? Specifically, how detailed are the stats on each individual
soldier in a SG II scenario, and does the combat and damage system allow for a
focus on the survivability of an individual or small group of individuals
(Such as PC's) on the battlefield?
If the responses I get are encouraging, I may just buy the game and start
tinkering. Thanks in advance.

If there's to be Yet More Discussion on the topic of Full Metal Anorak
Skirmish The Role Playing Game, perhaps our Listmeister can establish a
separate list?
By the way, Brian, you're probably about to be inundated.
Actually, it's already been done, sort of. GDW used to put out a terrific game
called Twilight 2000 (the 2nd Edition) which did exactly that, only for 2000
on Earth, in the closing days of World War III. It used a similar system to
their 2300 AD game, which had gauss rifles, lasers, plasma weapons
and GEV tanks very similar to DSII/SGII. It wouldn't take much work at
all to set up an SGII campaign using the T2000 rules.

Uh oh... have I resurrected a monster or something?
I have T2000 2nd edition. You're right, it's a fantastic game. But as good of
an idea as yours is, it defeats my purpose in asking the question. I
don't want to take DS/SG/FT ideas and apply them to another game system

You want a copy? (I'm still about half done.)

someone else mentioned they were setting up a GURPS rpg in the SGII world. I
kind of forgot about it but I was hoping they could send me their information
on it because it sounded interesting. Could the person who mentioned this
possibly
e-mail me their information as an attachment offlist if its on your
computer? I would be most grateful.

I would love a copy, I've been trying to get my hands on FMA or something like
it for awhile. thanks.
Theres 2 or 3 versions around.
I've got one that I linked directly to SG/FT for use as an RPG &
interfaces directly at the skirmish level. Contact me off list for a copy
(it's not publicly posted).
