Subject: Wargaming at Canadian War Museum
The Canadian War Museum hosts a weekend of wargaming each spring known as Spring Offensive. Over the course of the weekend, historical wargames (board and miniatures) are played in space provided by the museum. In addition, there's free sandwiches, pretzels, coffee, muffins and pop. A VCR and widescreen TV show off war movie classics. On a related note, the Ottawa Miniature Gamers is a club that plays historical miniatures wargames in space provided by the museum twice a month (plus more unofficial games in homes). On a complementary note, Autumn Assault happens each November and is strictly miniature based wargames but includes fantasy, sci-fi, and historicals. It's run by local retailers and miniature manufacturers.
