Subject: Victory for 2nd ESU fleet

************ PRESS RELEASE **************************

The 2nd ESU fleet of the Alder Valley sector have returned from a crushing
victory over the vile Kra'Vak invasion fleet which threatened it's territories
on an obvious raid on the home worlds.

With two carriers and two dreadnoughts as the backbone of the fleet the enemy
was engaged at high speed by a lenghtening column of vessels. Headed by two
Wave gun armed ships which each made a devasting first strike against the
enemy before the fleet fell into range of the Kra'Vak weaponry.

Whilst the carriers took a defensive position behind the main fleet with their
escort ships the bulk of the fleet sped forward launching a volley of over 40
missiles into which the Kra'Vak fleet could not avoid flying. The fleet also
engaged the Kra'Vak at close quarters quickly destroying the capital class
vessels and the massive supership by bombarding them with pulse torpedoes and
beam weapons.

As the remaining Kra'Vak made for flight the fleet were able to destroy all
but two escort class ships. Unfortunately these two did escape and we expect a
retaliatory strike from the Kra'Vak any day soon. But we are ready!

ESU losses were light although the loss of a dreadnought was a serious
blow. Total losses numbered in addition - 2 cruisers and 4 escorts.
Fleet Admiral Kato has expressed his regret for the loss suffered by the
families of those noble men who lost their lives protecting the home worlds
but has honoured each of them posthumously with the highest
  accolade - the White Star.

In seperate news Fleet Admiral Kato has expressed his support for the trade
pact being offered by the ESU to the newly formed Outer Worlds Alliance (OWA)
which is expected to formaly announce it's independance from the Earth states
within the next few days.

I guess I should post some Age of Iridium updates, huh? The Nipponese have
lost 8 cruisers (6 to damage, 2 to striking colours). On the other hand, the
Imperial Tsarist Ship Khalkin Gol just struck her colours, so it's a little
early to turn the lights out on the Nipponese (especially since their capital
ships are completely untouched). It's been exciting so far...
