Scary, you aren't allowed to put pictures of any ADB logos or miniatures on
your website unless you are an "official" website. You aren't even allowed to
have unofficial SSD's of unofficial ships up unless you are an "official"
site. What's more, if you are an official site ADB claims rights to everything
on the site. One of the requirements of being an
"official" website is not having _any_ links to unofficial sites.

Sorry, Amarillo Design Bureau. I expected people to know because many
(obvioulsy not all) have migrated from Star Fleet Battles.
Thanks. I never played SFB because it has such a bad rep for being errataed
and expanded to the point of unplayability. Plus I saw some guys playing it
one time and they definitely made it look like no fun. I much prefered FASA's
ST tactical simulator, which was fun.
JMO, but I agree with the previous poster. That's going to kill a lot of the
fan support. Dumb move.

Sounds like an after-effect of Paramount's campaign against Trekkie fan
pages :-( Such things can't bring anything but bad PR...
Regards,
Yet another pardon my density question: Are you saying that ADB is telling
people to remove pictures that contain *any* of their miniatures? So if I take
a picture of people playing at a convention with their product they will ask
me not to put it up on my website?

Where did this information come from?

Basically if you make or support anyone who makes 'for use with SFB' products,
your unauthorized and can not use any ADB or Paramount copywrited things on
the site, and authorized sites can not link to you.
Another quote from the page is: ANY SITE may include reviews, tactics
articles, and "personal gaming experiences". This kind of material is free
game and protected speech. Note that the "Fair Use Doctrine" (which is broadly
misunderstood but which is
explained very nicely at http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html)
will
allow you to quote a few words of ADB Inc.-owned text here and there as
part of a review of a report of a personal gaming experience. The Fair Use
Doctrine does NOT extend so far as to allow you to reprint SFB weapons charts
or turn mode tables on SSDs you created (although Authorized sites will be
"authorized" to do so), or to use ADB Inc.Âs standard rules in scenarios
posted to Unauthorized sites.

This sounds like the same load of "MUSH" that TSR was pushing a while back.
(before WOTC...)
I agree with the other stated opinions.
