(First, I'd like to thank everyone that weighed in on the multiple support
weapon question. It's all been very helpful. Thanks!)

OK, next question that has come up.

Under designing a vehicle:

1) GMS systems have a capacity point of 2 for GMS/L and 4 for GMS/H. Are
these numbers then multiplied by 2 for fixed mounts, or 3 for turret mounts?
Are they used as is, regardless of how they are mounted?

2) What if anything does 'Command/Communications Systems' do for you at
8 cap points? It is apparently 'essential for any Command Vehicle', but I can
find no rules on it.

Thanks as always,

That's the capacity cost for fixed mounts. If you want to turret mount them
(real world example is M113 with twin TOW launcher as opposed to helicopter
carrying TOW as fixed mounts), then multiply by 1.5. So: Fixed Turreted
        GMS/L 2 3
        GMS/H 4 6

There's some more details on my site in the Dirtside II section, which you
might be interested in.

The command vehicle is described more in the Dirtside II book. It allows your
commander to rally troops that are demoralised, IIRC. Basically, just get a
size 2 APC (M113 equivalent, IMHO), add two APSW (capacity 1 each) and put it
behind a hill on the table.

1) The listed capacity points are total.

2) Unwritten, but I would suggest it fills the same role as a communications
specialist and an EW specialist (same capacity points, anyway). Looking to
movies for PSB, I think of Patton with a trailer with charts and
communications. In Aliens, I think of the APC and Lt. Goreman viewing what the
squad sees, monitors vital statistics, identifies location of squad on a
scrolling map. Since this is scifi, the Aliens example is probably closer.
Vital statistics would probably not be displayed, but monitored and Medic or
Medvac called when someone is hit (or location marked for retrieval if
killed). If weapons are plugged in, then ammo levels could be tracked and
supplies readied. It probably serves as a network server collecting data and
updating it on each soldier's interface (enemy positions, friendly positions,
etc.).

AFAIK, GMS have the same size regardless, and a roughly 180-degree arc
of fire; or your vehicle model could have a vertical launch system, in which
case it gets 360-degree fire as a bonus.

In DS, it allows various rally rolls; in SG, I'm not sure - maybe a die
shift up for a commander who stays with his vehicle, because you can fit a lot
more, more powerful electronics & stuff in an APC hull that people can
man-pack? (This is a suggestion, NOT a rule. Now that I think about it,
I rather like it, though. Shades of the command systems in the 'Aliens' movie
APC...)
