Hi All,
I've got another question, which hopefully won't leave me with as much egg on
my face as the last one...
FB pg3 Combining Maneuvers - "If desired, a ship may combine both
ROTATION and PUSH uses of its maneuvering thrusters in a single game turn, but
no more than ONE of each, provided the TOTAL of maneuver points expended does
not excede the total available."
As I read this, the restriction on ROTATIONS or PUSHES to one each is ONLY if
you combine them. So it would be OK to have two rotations or two pushes in one
turn so long as there is no combination of the two.
Am I reading it right?
one rotation and one push per turn. There is really no reason to have 2 pushes
per turn, as pushing aft would negate you main drive thrust, which is the only
useful quantity for major course changes.

The two pushes doesn't really matter as much as the two rotations.
For example, turning to use the main drive, and then turning back to face the
"baddies" could be very important, and is a good reason to have higher thrust
ships (other than the obvious).

My interpretation is that you are limited to ONE of each manoeuvre type by
this rule, regardless of how you combine them.
The examples don't show multiple use of either type and I think by looking at
the description manoeuvres the intention is for one of each per turn. But I
agree there is room for your interpretation too.
I agree this has an impact on the use of tactical rotation, especially on
retrograding.
Jon T, what was the intent?

You're reading what the rule *says* rather than what it was intended to *mean*
<g> OTOH, your reading is the one I at least used during the
playtest. It does increase the maneuverability of thrust 4+ ships quite
a lot.
