I just got Tony Christney's Java-applet 3d starmap of the GZG universe
posted.

You'll need a Java 1.1-capable browser to make the 3d viewer work.
If you want to ask/congratulate Tony about his work, email him directly:

URL is wrong - need your user# part after Nebula.

erk! i just copied the files into place; i haven't fiddled with them at all.
honest, guv'nor! if there is a problem it might be to do with me having a
different version to brian's or some sort of corruption en route (unlikely as
the class file format guards against this).
or ...
there is a known bug whereby the stars do not get drawn on some platforms
(they are drawn with size zero rectangles, which either end up as points or
invisibles). are you using internet explorerer? do you get this problem when
you load from brian's site?
does anyone else have this problem with the oxford but not brian's site?
brian is over near:

This is a known problem. It is an inconsistency that so far only seems to
affect Internet Explorer. I'm working on it, and it should be fixed by Monday.
You can try using Netscape 4.06 if you can get it. I know that it works fine
with that browser (at least under NT4.0, Solaris and Macintosh).
