UNSC SDN-X Names

Since the UN survey crusiers are named for Science Fiction authors (Nivin,
McCaffrey) why not name the warships for Science Fiction characters from

stories dealing with UN type organizations protecting the human race from
itself and or the aliens. This way we can call the biggest UN warship the
ZIM!!!!!!!! What do you think?

Nice idea, and we may well use it for some of the smaller UN stuff - but
as you'll note from the list the lUN classes we've got out so far already have
naming schemes in place.... though of course you can call yours whatever you
like!!

Well, at least they're better than the other meaning of the name... I got an
impression of the Po class member "UNS Waterloo" before seeing this, um, other
interpretation <g>

Bridger? BRIDGER? I finally found the OTHER person who watched
SeaQuest.... ;)

And how can we forget Robinson(Lost in Space), Crane(Voyage to the Bottom of
the Sea), Straker (UFO) and Koenig(Space:1999)?
