Hi, I would like to hear any ideas you have on the fallowing: Union of Border
Worlds The Union was created after the start of the Kra'Vak invasion when
Space Marshall Devin Marshall of NAC Royal Navy. Appalled by the lack of
concern for the well fair of these the people who lived in the "outback"
region of the Confederation decided to take matters into his own hands. Using
the resources of Marshall Interstellar Transportation (MIT) operated by Sara
Marshall (his sister) he set up operations in Gawain protecting that system
from pirates that would raid the shipping that came into the system for use by
other systems. When Gawain declared its independence from the NAC, they
blockaded the system. Gawain is a system with strong agricultural
resources that the rest of the region depends on. Five other systems -
two
NAC, one FSE and one ESU - declared there independence from there parent
states and formed there own alliance, thus the Union of Border Wolds was
formed. This is a political faction that I'm curentaly working on devloping,
any ideas
and/or comments would be helpfull.

I would delve a little bit farther into the political motivations as well.
It's going to take rather alot, probably more than a common enemy to get a
disparate bunch like the NAC, FSE, and ESU into bed together.
Also, the major (and minor) powers didn't really ignore the K'V incursions,
they were simply very partisan in what they defended.
If this Union did come about, I would think that it would be a temporary
entity. The timeline indicates that even though there was a limited spirit of
cooperation during the first few years after contact, they were back to the
same old games after the immediate threat had passed.
Not to give away the boat, but in teh next Rot hafen Chapter you will
see some political moves that cover a similar move within the NAC/NSL/UN
heirarchy.

Amung the nations proper that is true. These are colonys who are trying to
survive with limited food (the "owning" nations are taking it all away for use
by there military and core colonys) and other supplys. The Union is more of a
mutial defence pact and a barter system than a nation proper, atlest at this
time.

are pirates (in the cass of the Gawain system raiding is done to get food for
other colonys) some times funded by other colonys to steal supplys. The other
problem that they face is that the condishions are getting very bad. there has
been out breaks of yellow feaver, something the humanity thought that they had
left behind when the took to the stars. Malnutrishion is also becoming a
problem as they are squeased for even more resorces. The NAC forces in the
region are very limited and can't do much. Schoon thanks for you input.

another group that is spliting off to) group can say "I have had enuff of you
