The vast majority of UN ships should be cutters. Their primary jobs being
survey, Search & Rescue, treaty enforcement and Non-Combatant
Evacuation. They would have some warships but more cutters. Coast Guard
Cutters are usually named after coast guardsmen who have lost their lives in
action. Perhaps name them after peacekeepers who died such as the colonel who
died in Lebenon.
Not to disagree but Coast Guard Cutters are named based on a class but not
normally named after "retired" Coasties.
IE: 210' Cutters: USCGC Reliance, USCGC Durable, USCGC Dependable, USCGC
Valiant. Etc.
We have have an Ice Breaker named after a rather seedy character that has had
the PAO types up in arms for a bit.
Now after saying all this I agree completely with the mission and type of
vessel. The UN would want to put as many decks out there as possible so would
have smaller, cheaper ships designed to assist with trouble. Later as a war
developes they would increase their tonnage.
