Hello: I've just finished an update to the UFTWWWP. Instead of rambling off a
list of what's new, I think you all should just drop down and see what I've
done yourselves. Just one thing: There is a new URL:
http://www.uwm.edu/~cthulhu/FT/index.htm
Let me know what you think.

Looks good, Mark. A very nice, clean design. It looks MUCH nicer than your old
pages, and they weren't too bad themselves.
Two things to check. First, the headings on each subsidiary page are cut off
at the top. That is the Computer Files heading is missing the
top three-quarters when the page is first loaded. When I highlight the
text by dragging, it shows up with no problem. Now, this may NOT be a problem
with your page. I just got a new computer and it came preloaded with Internet
Explorer 4. IE4 may be the culprit.
Second, I checked out your source code and you have the headings listed as
Liquid Crystal. I presume that is the liquid crystal display font that looks a
lot like the type face used on Full Thrust and More Thrust. Because I don't
have that font on my machine, the page headings come out in a plain,
italicized serif font. Unless you make the headings graphics, most people
won't see them as you intended. Mind you, the default font is clean enough
that the page looks just fine in a regular old font.
By the way, where did you get that background? It's one of the BEST starfields
I've ever seen on a web page.
Nice work!

How do you get the background image? I know how to get a picture but I don't
know how to tell Netscape that I want to download the background picture.
Pete
Mark, Your spell checker works great on your pages...:)
You're back again to the American 'Traveler' spelling.
It would also be helpful to change the title from
'The Unofficial Full Thurst Page'
to
'The Unofficial Full Thrust Page'
Unless, of course, you're now receiving support from
Coca-Cola and Pepsi. : )

Well if you are using Navigator and win95, all you have to do is right click
on the background and the last optiona at the bottom of the menu is Save
Background as....

Every time once in a while I get an E-Mail from someone who
tells me
that the title to this game is T-R-A-V-E-L-L-E-R. After I change it, I
get an e-mail telling me that it spelled T-R-A-V-E-L-E-R. MAKE UP YOUR
MINDS!!!!!!!!!!
Gee... I guess the best way to check it out would be to check the spelling at
the Imperium Games homepage, the publishers of the Traveller RPG system.

It's TRAVELLER... right on the Book 0 cover =)

Only to generate a bit more conflict,
> How do you get the background image? I know how to get a picture but
First view the page sourcer the line: <BODY TEXT="#FFFFFF" BGCOLOR="#000000"
LINK="#FF0000" VLINK="#FF9900" ALINK="#FFFF00"
BACKGROUND="http://www.uwm.edu:80/~cthulhu/FT/deepspac.jpg">
Where it says BACKGROUND= tells the file name that is used as the background
image. Enter the address in your web browser:
http://www.uwm.edu:80/~cthulhu/FT/deepspac.jpg
Right-click on the image (WIntel) or click and hold on the image
(Mac OS). Then select "Save Image As" from the pop-up menu.

Okay, I'm dating myself, but the original box (plus all the old supplements
I've held onto for nostalgia sake) spell it "Traveller". I remember reading a
review where an American mentioned the "spelling mistake" and being perplexed.
"'Traveller?' What spelling mistake?"
The word "traveller" is spelled with two "l"s in the UK (and Canada) and with
one "l" in the US. However, as it is a title, it has to be spelled "Traveller"
regardless of the country.
Funny enough (and completely off topic), Microsoft Word's spell checker says
that "traveller" is spelled incorrectly even though I have it set for Canadian
spelling. Canadian spelling is a weird mix of US and UK spelling. Example:
UK: tyre, centre, programme, organisation, magasine US: tire, center, program,
organization, magazine Canadian: tire, centre, programme, organization,
magazine
[snip]

No, it is MAGAZINE for us Brits as well, Allan....
