Don't know how Turkish and Jewish people get along, but their
present-day
governments seem to get along quite well in recent times, including joint
wepones projects. Both have rather unfriendly Arab neighbours, and you know
the saying about enemies' enemy...

Thanks for the input, Karl. It reinforces my ideas for friends/enemies
for the TR.

Thanks, I will/am. I've even looked into figs for them. I have a good
base of figs for DSII, but am still getting started on FT, and it may be years
before I add SG to my collection (The Warzone Bauhaus figs looked like a
good start for a Turkish force, especially if I file the Pickelhaub off their
helmets). I like some of the B4 Narn & Centauri figs, but I'm
guessing the fleet will be a mix of a few first-generation Turk designs,
along with a lot of stuff bought from other countries. (Confession time

one of the MAIN reasons for my earlier desire to play an NAC splinter is
that I like English, Celtic, & American culture, but HATE the NAC ship figs
from an esthetic viewpoint. The NSL & Krav'vak ships are much more bitchin'
LOOKING).
I will need to come up with some ship names. So far the easy/obvious
ones are things like the Attaturk, Ankara, Istanbul, Gallipoli, Bosphorous.
I'm thinking of giving one ofe the troop transports the nickname among the
Turks of "Dolmas" (pronounced Dolmish), which is a Turkish food and also a
sort of
minibus/Taxi in Istanbul - the most appropriately NAMED form of public
transportation I've ever encountered (Dolmas is Turkish for "stuffed").

Maybe a free state with protectorate status.....
As for a flag, whether still in Turkey or based in space, I see no reason to
modify the current Turkish flag. It has traditional value, and also
incorporates images appropriate fore a space-faring nation.
