The Aslan minis (OK, not great) were one of the last ones produced by RAFM for
TNE. There were a lot leftover in inventories when GDW went under. Any con
should have a lot of them - ask your local retailer if there were any
left over, or if their distributor wants them off the shelves. Similar deal
with the Grav Bike. I'll see if I have a few for you...

Will there be a miniatures line for Traveller, 4th edition? If so, will they
be 25 mm (like the latest ones) or 15 mm (like the Martian Metals)?

Gah. Who knows. If they follow the trend they've set, it'll be in 8.5 mm or
something- not quite right to fit in with anything else. As you can
see, I'm not happy about the direction that Far Future Enterprises & others
took with
Traveller, mechanics- or story-wise. Anyway, regardless of scale, the
minis would be missing guns, or limbs, or something (like rulebooks missing
essential tables, important formulae and explanations, etc). Jon (GZG), why
not pre-empt these folks and put out a series of Dog & Cat aliens? I
bet true 25mm Vargr in the SG style would look good. Maybe you could also be
the first people to do Hivers correctly. But seriously, GZG, the old designs
of
Traveller vehicles would translate well into 6mm DS2 stuff - lots of
illos from the Regency Combat Vehicle Guide to work with. They'd make GREAT UN
Ground Forces stuff...I'll send you some, if interested...

Far Future Enterprises? Missed that one. I thought Imperium was producing T4.
Also heard rumors that Imperium had packed it in. If so, probably not seeing
ANY miniatures.
However, good non-human troops are always welcome.
Jon T., KR, Nic, you're listening, right? ;->=

Actually, a lot of the GZG designs look like they were taken from 2300AD,
especially in the hovertanks. GZG's Goliath Mk.2 looks a fair bit like the
American M9, the Wombat hover APC a lot like the Kangaroo IV hover APC (though
that's a pretty generic design, I'd say, sloped box on skirts), but
the crowning touch is GZG's Rommel hover tank -- the spitting image of
the
German Luki-IX in 2300AD.

I know - isn't that great? I always wished somebody would do those in
6mm...Jon, we applaud your taste - now about the Imperial Marine Grav
APC...

I'd buy them in 20 mm (preferred) or 25 mm! Maybe use the cover art from C. J.
Cherryh's Chanur books as a reference?

Oooooh, good idea! Or maybe some of the good Kzin art, of Larry Niven's 'Known
Space'. There's also plenty of good Aslan drawings floating around in
Traveller materials.
