Have you used this unit in a game yet?...or to the Listers that play DS2: how
do you use your ADS vehicles effectively?

I usually put one ADS vehicle in my command unit and let it sit idle until a
threat appears, then use it's activation to turn on the sensors but then it
dies
before its next activation -- usually from a HEL/3+
equipped element that moved out from cover behind
woods or something. :-(

I got the impression from the rules that having an active ADS was a Bad Idea,
so I've been leaving them turned off until I needed them. Am I waiting until
it's too late?

OK... I have a platoon of ADS vehicles in every maneuver batallion, which
breaks down to 2 per company team (usually I don't have more than a team on
the
board--not at the point cost of my first-line forces).
I keep them in a seperate "unit" with their sensors on. Then I keep them
behind the maneuver force, able to cover the lead units but out of the line of
fire of most of the enemy forces.

That is how they were used against me. I have not tried them myself that way,
but it should be interesting for sure.

You'll be needing HEL-armed ADS then. There's rules on my site for
creating them.

I have them on all the time, but then I use a different set of sensor rules
for DS2.

G'day,

Most of the guys here have multiple small to medium ADS vehicles on the board
at the one time and they've proved to be very effective. As far as I can
remember they tend to keep them to the rear (well not in the front lines
anyway) and they're kept together or overlapping. I'd be the only one here who
has only 1 ADS vehicle, but at size 7 its a monster anyway;)

Cheers
