I tried to work out Thor-style/Rock-chucking/Orbital domination a little while ago (and ignored the dodginess of Beam weapons) and DE-justified major ground assaults without Orbital Superiority apart from a limited engagement (FMAS, SG, quickly landed brigade vs brigade with NO orbital superiority - I think that matches another comment). It seems to me that even when faced with total Orbital SUperiority and the dominance that can give, any defender is going to head to population centers, start a guerilla war and diversify: FMAS/SG area, from a gaming viewpoint. Ooops. Does that strike a chord with anyone (apologies for any memories)?
