I dont know if this is what Bwana Jon is going to do but it seems likely (and
no I dont think he has it all clearly mapped out, yet).
The third edition of Full Thrust will further extend the timeline. The Siege
of Sol, where the FB2 timeline left off, will be lifted by UN ships armed with
new weapons allowing mankind to push back the KraVak. These new weapons will
be the pretty toys of the third edition maybe railguns or spinal mounts
(dont those big UN ships look like good spinal mount candidates?) and if it
lists any new ships they will be the new UN fleet existing ships hastily
refitted with new modules for the new weapons.
Well we only have to wait another two years (or so) to find out what is really
in the book.
> The third edition of Full Thrust will further extend
In the past GZG rule books have been light on the background side, leaving all
that stuff for supplements.
> The Siege of Sol, where the FB2 timeline
Where would these UN ships come from? From inside or outside of the siege
lines?
And "plucky humans beat the alien invaders back at the last minute" is a
cliche. I'd rather see the Kra'Vak win. The next stage of the GZG timeline
could feature some portions of humanity serving different alien masters whilst
others maintain their freedom.
> These new weapons will be the Âpretty toys of the
Not to me. The big tubes running down the spine of some of the ships have
solid ends more often than they have barrel type openigs. Most of the big guns
on the UN ships seem to be mounted on the wing tips rather spinally.
Well, after Jon releases Bugs Don't Surf (DS/SG/FMASk Supplement) and
possibly the Senarios Book, I think that it would be nice to see FB 3rd
edition.
I would like to see:
- Consolidation of rules from the various sources
(Books & Jon's official comments)
- Updated cross-over rules for FT/DS2/SG2/FMASk
- Boarding Rules
- EWF (ECM/ECCM/Scanner) Rules
- Updated cloaking rules
- More History (he's got me hooked)
- Updated Genre Weapons
It would be nice if he released FB3 at the same time that covered
- UNSC
- IF
- PAU
- IC
- LLAR
- NI
- OU

Geez, slow down people! FB2 has only been out for a little while, and even
though speculation is a wonderful past time (just clean up after yourself)
remember Jon's only a one-man (at most two?) operation!
How about we all back up and bask in the glory that is FB2 just a weeeee bit
longer.:)
> PS Acronym Expansion:
Personally, I prefer DS2 and SG2, just to identify the version for future
reference.:) (Though I suppose very rarely does anyone use FT2, unless
referring to FT3).

I'll bask when (if?) we get some word on what the fixes are going to be for
the
SV :).

*whack* (flyswatter stuns the bug temporarily).
Now that us vaccheads have enough material to keep us occupied temporarily,
it's certainly hopeful that this project is advancing forward.

They are still being worked on. Beth has some good suggestions based on some
playtests, but it still needs more testing. The suggestions have already been
bandied about, and I suspect they won't be as radical as some people think.
There are already some pretty good tactical ways of damaging the SV. In fact,
the FB2 SV ships are more balanced than some people seem to realize.

I think its been mentioned before - but for the 'minor' nations that
tend to buy/copy other's ships, a suggestion of who has what could be
included in an FB - I don't think it would take up much space - except
for full write-ups of substantially modified ships.
