Hello again, after almost a 3 month break I'm back to the list. I think a
break from this list was just what I needed:)
So what have I been doing I hear you cry.
First up I've updated my website with pictures of the paper buildings on
offer, including the new moonbase set. So for all those who don't like paper
buildings or haven't tried them because of not knowing how they look. You can
now! I've also added my first DSII dropship paper model (no picture yet) but
the model is big enough to look like it can carry armoured units.
Paper models are here:
http://www.germwarfare.co.uk/dsbuild.htm
I've also put up pictures of the spaceships for my bug miniatures. I ditched
the avocado look in favour of a crescent like wing section with the bug
segmented design for the hull sections. As always comments are very welcome
for these miniature ideas

So how about a debate on fighters in FT then:)

And I will independently vouch for them. I've just spent a pleasant evening
putting some together, and they look great, particularly the moon base.
The Dropship gets tried tonight!!!!!
Any ETA on other dropships or the alien village yet?

So, um, planning to do any 25mm buildings any time soon? <grin>

To my taste, the destroyer looks a bit too much as if the tail has been
plastered onto an extant bug. The other ships definitely look more like
_ships_ - sense of scale is one of the really hard things to provide,
but I think you're doing it.

Well thank you for the indorsment. Alien Village oh yeah forgot I was doing
that:)
I'll bump that up the list of things to do.

I hadn't since it would take several sheets to form one building. I might look
at small bunkers and the like.

Tail? The flat wing like section is the front of the ship not a tail:) I
should annotate these pictures more often.
It seems my sculpts are so alien no-one knows which way up they go :)

That's the sort of thing I was thinking of. I can cobble up obstacles with
bits of spent firework and the like, but it would be nice to have a
bunker which didn't have words down the spine. :-)

Ah-ha! Yes, of course, it makes more sense that way...

I suspect I was thinking of Star Trek-type ships. (Slaps self round head
with wet haddock.) Yes, that does work better.
Thanks,

welcome back, Jeremey!
the new dropship model sounds cool. I gonna try putting it together this week.
I very much like the unique designs of the Cimexian bug ships. I a bit of a
bug ground force, but no appropriate space forces. these have the right feel
to me. how does the size compare to a NAC or ESU equivalent class ship? will
these also be sold thru Brigade?
thanks, Dave

another idea is to drop the 6mm printed sheet into a color
copier/printer
and enlarge it to 25mm. since this is approximately a 400% blowup, you might
wanna do it in sections as long as that doesn't affect the model. you may have
to tape an edge, instead of folding it. anyway, it's worth a try.

I'll try and do a scan of the ships next to familiar GZG ships. As to their
availability Tony from Brigade hasn't seen these yet so I wait for his
opinions on the designs.
I guess it's a case of watch this space!

That's the beauty of aliens;)

Yes but I have to fight back the artistic temperament shouting "No that's its
bum not a devastatingly powerful plasma cannon!":)
