Let the search begin! Hopefully the Aliens sound track is out there somewhere
in mp3 format (for starters).

Thats excellent news. An mp3 resource for gaming purposes would be appreciated
by everyone here IMHO.

I have a couple of the Command & Conquer ones which can be found at
http://www.westwood.com/newindex.html in the downloads/music section, as
well as music from Starcraft in mp3 format. Also found a track called Battle
Point Unlimited. Not sure where i got it from but was the result of a random
trawl thought an mp3 site. Its part of my very small, but slowly building mp3
playlist. I wouldn't say it was atmospheric as such but i've had no complaints
about it during our FT games. If anyone wants a listen, its 4.3Mb
and i can e-mail it to you (replies off list please).

Yes please Jon.

I can tell it definitely is. There are a couple of good ways to get MP3s:

Firstly, ignore MP3 sites. Most of them are useless.

Cruise IRC. There are LOTS of channels specialising in MP3 swapping. Some have
rules about having to offer MP3s, some don't. There are a couple of nifty
scripts around that help with the process.

Get Napster http://www.napster.com My SO swears by this as being the
best. It's a program designed purely for swapping MP3s. It'll save you a HEAP
of time.

My suggestions!

Napster is one of those life-affirming programs... :)

Keep an eye out for WEASEL450. That is my Napster user id and I have a mess of
MP3 soundtracks up. Robotech, Last Starfighter, etc...
