I managed to find a micromachines HK drone, and plan on using it as some
sort of VTOL. I notive it has no cockpit, since it is a drone duh). I'm
considering giving it a cockpit, or would that be sacrilege?

Does it need a cockpit just because you are adding a pilot?
What happened to the Sci-fi angle?
Fully Computer Generated 3D Virtual Reality HUD or a Window the choice is
yours:)

Actually it's less a visibility issue than it is the fact the figure's so
slim, it's hard to tell where the pilot would even fit.

No!!!! Not this thread again.:)
We've been through this with respect to tank commanders needing to stick their
heads out. It ended in one of those "agree to disagree" things.

Besides, in this case it's not about which is more realistic, it's merely
about the esthetics of the model. I'm of the opinion when it comes to figures
that you decide what looks coolest, and PSB any reason you want for that
particular look.

You can do like I am doing on most of my vehicles and aerospace units, all
cockpits are internal to the unit and controled via a nueral hookup of
somekind. This way the pilot gets a little more protection than a bubble.
