Subject: System Specials for campaigns...

Here's a way to spice up your campaigns.  When each planet and/or system
is being explored, roll 2d6 on this chart:

2    ship of the ancients	 3d6 x 10 mass
3    existing colony		   3d6 pop (for Stellar Conquest, adjust
for other systems)
4    cache			      3d6 x 50 points (Full Thrust)
6 to 9 Nothing
10    hostiles			      exploring fleet suffers 3d6 * 2
damage points
11    hostiles			      exploring fleet suffers 3d6 * 4
damage points
12    hostiles			      exploring fleet suffers 3d6 * 8
damage points

Note that small task forces of small ships will be annhilated by even small
hostile forces...

Ship of the Ancients Build using the technology base from any one race. All
systems except
hull, hanger, magazines, FTL, and holds cost 1/2 normal mass.  Yes, this
means armor is 1/2 mass!  Drives are automatically advanced.  This ship
can be repaired (double cost) but never modifiied. Ship of the ancients also
has chamelion surface. It can appears appear as any ship plus or minus 10% of
the Ship of the Ancients mass. Note that this is ability is lost whenever it
does something that the ship it mimicking can not...
