JMS had a big hand in hiring these guys to do the games... Warner Brothers
just went along with it. There were a couple larger game companies that were
interested but the inside track was already taken. That is too bad, there was
such an opportunity here. Now not only will B5 not gain a large market share
in the toy area but a small market share of the gaming world (which
unfortunately is not that big to start with...)
Having worked on the product and owning a freelance art studio, I can tell you
that AoG has been working like crazy trying to get product out! Do you think
they WANT to delay product? They want to make money:ergo they want product to
ship. The only problem AoG had (and IMHO it stemmed from the decision to
include minis with the boxed set) was picking a crappy production house to
make the figs. That has stopped and they are taking the herculean steps of
starting their own casting house for figs so it will no longer be a problem.
Cut 'em some slack guys.

Will the EFSB be sold in Europe?

As far as I'm aware Chameleon Eclectic are doing a deal with a Euro publisher
(Titan Books I think) to publish all the B5 RPG stuff over there. I wouldn't
hold your breath though, CE seem to be VERY slow and very behind thier
schedule for the B5 stuff.
Is it me or has Warner picked two pretty poor games companies to get out the
B5 stuff, both AOG and CE seem perpetually either behind schedule, beset by
production problems, or just plain incompetant (OK, that may be harsh but so
far AOG has not impressed me).

You are right Stuart they are both fairly useless at being Games Companies. I
think they should have guessed, or done some market research to find out, that
both games would be very popular.
Both companies seemed surprised by the demand for their products, wacky!
On a slightly different tack having looked and played both games my advice
would be buy the miniatures from AOG, the game is not that good, and the
source books from CE, again the base RPG is pretty crap.
Ah well back to work.
