Now that I finally got that order for my Stargrunt figs in (NSL Power
Armor--and all I can say is WOW! NEATO!) I've given some thought to
actually playing the game (imagine!). So I've decided to invest in some
opposition force figs as well. I found on someone's web site a TO&E for
Islamic Federation infantry which I like, and I was wondering how large a
force of unarmored infantry would be needed to take on a PA
platoon. I went in for all the bells and whistles--2 SAWs per squad, 2
GMS/Ps in HW squad (four men--I'm using the PL and PSG as individuals),
and all the rest have those twin rocket launchers. I also whoopsed when I
bought the first squad and ended up with four of them with SLAMs, which I'm
handing out one per squad. This seems to be a bit more firepower than your
average SG platoon normally has, methinks.

Not a chance. You can never have enough guns.
I've been building an Islamic Federation force for DSII, to fight my merc
battalion. The mercs are pretty expensive, all fast GEVs with high stealth
and tech, while the IF are low-tech tracked vehicles and loads of
infantry. This weekend we'll see if those GMSs are good enough to stop
Hammer's Slammers.;)
BTW, anyone going to the EVIL EMPIRE (tm) convention in Baltimore next
weekend?

Hrm--mind e-mailing a TO&E? I'm kinda interested in working out a
standard OPFOR--might even paint up a batallion or so. What paint
scheme do you use?

My experience is that it _all_ depends on ECM. My top-line tagmatic
grav tanks don't sweat GMSs 'coz I bought ECM and PDS out the yin-yang.
But against my border defense forces and militia, who have no ECM and thus
roll a d4, Heavy GMSs are the kiss of death.

*Look of horror*
