The only thing I can verify for you is that Marvin Lamb (who is
working/has
worked in the Starfire Design Studio) has bought the rights to Starfire from
TFG. (unfortunately I cannot reproduce his post detailing the details of this
event as I deleted it). In it he has basically stated that further issues of
Sky Marshall will be electronic in nature (I think Matt Seidl can confirm
this; I removed myself from the starfire mailing list a while back 'cause I
was getting way too many msgs to keep up; this list is at about my limit these
days:(), though the basic game products would remain 'hardcopy' in nature.

I had not heard about SFB going out, though. Could it also be Marvin??

I know this is a little off topic, but I have some news about Star Fleet
Battles!

I found out last week, when I talked to the guy at my favorite hobby store.
That there has been some changes at Task force. Firstly, Task Force Games was
bought out by a californian computer company (don't know who). The so called
Amarillo Design Buero went under! The computer company passed down orders to
task force: they setup a "StarFleetBattles Design group", and they were told
to cut some of the felgercarb out of the game! The game may not be as simple
as FT, but it is somewhat closer....

Can anyone verify this info?

Task force has not yet said anything on their home page. The last it was
updated, appears to be December.

I thought that ADB (i.e., Stephen Cole) owned the rights to SFB, and TFG had
an exclusive contract to print the stuff. Of course, Cole has retired from
actually running it (with the "Dayton Design Bureau" taking over), so maybe he
decided to sell the game, or Task Force decided to sell the publishing rights.
