Can anyone recommend a place where I can get a bunch of hand weapons
(melee) that would fit 25/28mm miniatures? I'm pretty sure GW sells
bits, but I'd like to see what else is out there. Doesn't necessarily have to
be medieval. Billy clubs and baseball bats would work too.

I've got an idea I want to try for ECC next year (If I can actually pull off
this time around.) and need some parts to scatter.

Oh, and if one of the bits is a chainsaw, so much the better. :-)

Thanks in advance.

Essex Miniatures sell 25mm Medieval weapon packs

X25, X38 and X52 might be of interest to you. They have a US distributor
:

As for Chainsaws, the only ones I can think of are on GW Bloodbowl figures.

There is a much better example on an older Goblin BB player, which should
still be available through mail order; I can't find a picture on the Stuff of
Legends website, but the reference number in the old
Citadel catalogue (which I conveniently had on my desk !) is 073387/24.
There's also a human chainsaw wielder, 073387/1. Assuming you can get
hold of either model, it shouldn't be too hard to separate them from their
chainsaws.

Reaper produces weapon packs. They are all medieval/fantasy, though
perhaps some simple clubs are in the packs too.

If it's something as simple as clubs, you might be best off making them from
plastic rods. Simple, and cheaper than the alternative.

GW has chainSWORDS galore, but I've only seen two 25mm chainsaws...both OOP
right now.

One was from a Grenadier Call of Cthulhu/Nightmares pack, with a trio of
maniacs in it.

The other was from a really weird Ral Partha figure. He looked like Leonard
Nimoy in some kind of (non Trek) uniform, and came with four or five weapon
options. One was an M16, another was a chainsaw. The pack was labeled "Bobber
Spumetti", if that means anything to anyone.

There is a very nice 25/28mm chainsaw as one of the "free*" loose
weapons in some of the Foundry Street Violence packs..... but as these extra
bits seem to be packed at random you'd have to be lucky to get one! If you
have a Foiundry stockist within reach, the best thing would be to go and shake
the packs till you see what oddments are in there!

* "free" is a relative term, since putting these extra loose weapons in was
one of their excuses for only putting 5 figures in an 8.50 UKP pack.....

I got a catalogue from Prentice Pewter at BiFrost - they do packs of
25mm accessories; bundles, bottles, jars, mugs things like that, three of them
might be useful in this context:

"25-10 Tools: Hammer, saw, drill, chisel, axe, crate, lantern, pail"

"25-16 Mine Tools: stove, barrel, ore, pick, spade, sack, sieve,
panning bowl, hammer, crowbar"

"25-17 Tools II: anvil, forge, sickle, spade, grapple, fire axe,
bellows, bucket, sword blank, notice"

3 quid a pack.
