Did anyone wade through the system assault ideas I posted a few days back? I
was wondering if they seemed to add too much time to a battle <especially a
small points battle>. They were designed when we played the campaign game in
FT... our enemy kept deciding that the only chance he had was to assault the
capital with his whole fleet. We kept reinforcing it using fleet tenders, so
it was a VERY large battle (10000 pts vs 7000 or so). The system assault rules
seemed to be a reasonable way to spread the battles a little thinner... but I
wondered if anyone else saw any other good uses.

Thanks,

Well, I hope this isn't a slap in the face or anything, Scott, but I probably
will use them as guidelines only.

I can't seem to get two parties willing to dive into a long campaign, so what
will likely happen is more of a narrative campaign, where I play both sides at
the higher (startegic? I can't keep it straight) level, and then have players
over to fight out the battles.

As such, I'll probably take my cue from the thought you've put into it, but it
won't be used strictly as intended.
