For a look at one possible for so the Japanese Empire and it's colonial ground
forces I recommend A Small Colonial War and Fire In A Faraway Place by Robert
Frezza. These mainly deal with colonial light infantry and light armored cav
but should fit quite well into a DSII or SGII setting.
