Subject: Short list

Hi, Just a couple of items for the list:

1. I picked up SGII and want to know what FMA stands for ( can't find a
reference in the rules)?

2. I know of a source that has SPACEFLEET minis in quantity, esp. Tyranid. Is
anyone interested?

3. Re: Starguard. If anyone wants it I know of a mail order house that deals
almost exclusive in McEwan/Starguard. Let me know if you want it
posted.

4. ORGE, shucks all I have is 2 Mk V's ( and about a dozen of each of the
GEVs).

5. Does anyone know of a source of Martian Metal Traveller minis ( just
rebased mine for SGII)? Could use more Swords Worlders and Zhodani.

I'm interested. Prolly not in the market yet, but interested.

Sure. More sources for minis the merrier! :-)

I just received my order of Starguard figures last night. I
ordered a power armor "force" and five ships -- "Federation Scouts".

The power armor troops are nice, but undersized compared to most modern lines,
including Stargrunt. I put big globs of epoxy putty underneath them to boost
their height, but they still look undersized.
They're not very detailed, but I _like_ the '50s space-suit look.

The force came with eight armed only with their regulation
"laser pistols" -- they look more like little flame-throwers to me --
and two members of a heavy weapons team. All of the figures had jump
packs, and some had over-the-shoulder launch racks on their backs. The
eight "normals" came in four different poses, and didn't suffer from the
apparently dislocated shoulder some figures do. The heavy weapons team has one
fellow aiming a mucking great tube and the other standing by, carrying a rack
of reloads.

My feelings on these are mixed. I like them, but they look like the Imperial
Marines Midget Corps.

The "Federation Scouts" are little ships, bigger than a CMD scout, but not by
much. They're smooth (damn it!), and look rather like '50s ideas of hypersonic
jets. Not too bad. They were $2.00 for the five...

Full Metal ANORAK (as opposed to jacket... *SIGH*)

Depends on the price.

Are they net-capable?

Are you in the market for any Old Ladies? There are a number of people here
who would cheerfully mortgage their grannies for a Mk V. I only have one (and
a Mk III).

Thanks to those that responded. My source (ihenrich@ix.netcom.com) won't have
a tally of what he has for a couple of weeks, he is going to a couple of
Cons(he could even come back with MORE). If you are still interested drop a
line to the above address.

PS: I _have_ touched all of these minis(several sleeves of blister
packs).

I think that you miscalled the weapons a bit. The "laser pistol" in McEwans MI
suits is built into the left gauntlet and is not shown on the model. The
"nozzle like" gun they normally carry is a plasma gun. The heavy weapons team
should be a Portable Missile Launcher and a loader to carry extra rounds. The
over the shoulder launchers are "Y Rack launchers", right out of Starship
Troopers (Heinlein).

Hope this helps to clear things up a little...

I think the Traveller licence predates GW's owning of Citadel. Actually, the
whole thing gets even MORE convoluted. Citadel figures were produced under
licence in Canada by RAFM. So you have Martian Metals Traveller figures made
by a Canadian company with a British company's label on them.

I have quite a few Traveller figures that I plan to use with SG2. I have a
company's worth of TL15 power armour troops, the same number of TL12 power
armour, and quite a number of lower tech mercenaries. I plan to paint up some
old Grenadier 15mm SF figs to go with them. The pride of my collection,
though, is one Grav APC and 3 Gravtanks from the Traveller range. I definitely
remember that they were made by RAFM. I wish I had more 15mm grav vehicles,
though...
