Subject: shiptool v0.15 has been released
Actually, all the intervening numbers have been released too, but I didn't think it worth commenting on. The original package offered FB1+2 ship design, fleet management, and fleet record sheet printing; since then, I've enhanced all three: Ship design: Added "worksheet" output (so that you can demonstrate the calculations to other people); added command-line load; changed hull-strength presets, so that a "Weak" hull remains "Weak" even when the total hull mass is changed; fixed a double-screen bug (in some cases 10% of ship mass is not equal to 2 x 5%); added an "auto" hull mass button which will find the smallest ship able to contain listed components. Fleet management: Rather than race/fleet/class, ships are now selected by race/fleet/classification/class, where fleet and classification can be "any". (This will get refined further.) Fleet printing: postscript output size is smaller; submunitions now appear correctly; large ships now occupy multiple slots on the page rather than being scaled down. The suite is written in Perl/Tk (easily available on most Unix systems; downloadable from ActiveState for Windows) and includes full documentation.
