My dear Mr.Tuffley, I got some ships today, opened everything up, got my
razors and files out ready to clean things up, arranged them neatly and set up
my workspace. Once again, I was really disappointed. Of the fourteen Kra'Vak
ships I've just prepped, only three have had flash of any sort. Two of those
three were so minor that I count them only to give you the benefit of the
doubt, the third one was about 30 seconds worth of work along a seam. No,
let's be honest, 20 seconds, and it only took that long because I had a wide
blade on my knife and it was in a confined area at
the stern. In all, about 25 seconds--less than half a
minute!--of clean up time.
I get all psyched up and ready for a good session of filing and carving, and
bam, it's time for the glue and primer almost before I have a chance to sit
down. At this rate, I'm going to be forced to actually paint these things. I
hope you feel appropriately guilty.

He does a similarly poor job of flash creation on the SG2 stuff, too. It's
gotten to the point that when I work on historicals, I have completely eroded
my flash removal skills. And it's all HIS fault.
> My dear Mr. Tuffley,
While I echo the sentiments on the miniatures, I must also comment on FB2.
I picked it up today and must say, despite being a ground pounder at heart, am
very very impressed.
I like the fact that it fits in with the "look" established by FB1. (Will FT3
look similar?)
Most of all, I love the amount of sweat and hard work that's gone in to make
it a quality product - on the part of EVERYONE who's slaved over their
idea
for how to make things different/better in FT.
What I love most, I think, is that there's very little "fluff". I'm not
talking background history - which there's little of that too, but I
like
it - but I'm talking whole pages of pictures, big drawings slapped all
over
the place, big headings, white space - the useless stuff that companies
use to pad out books. There's little of that. FB2 is chock full of details
about how to play the game. Hardly anything is extraneous.
Well, well, well done.
Now, instead of bugging you for FB3, I (quietly) nudge you in the direction of
BDS with the hope that the quality matches or is even better.:)
I love it! Gave me a chuckle to start my day (It's 0536 hours and I leave for
work in less then 30 minutes.)
MUCHAS GRACIAS!

I've some of the bad old GeoHex (actually, not a lot of flash, just work to
make fit) and Bad(sic) Dog B5 Wars stuff, if you REALLY
need the practice. ;->=
And, don't get me started on the Noble Armada heavies!

Say Jon...
One thing you could do for these "disgruntled" (or should I say
disappointed...?) customers...provide "flashed" versions for a slightly
increased fee...8D

Actually, from some manufacturers have provided figures with enough flash,
sprues etc to make a couple of extra figures.
Incidentally, I painted those Kra'Vak ships with a spray of pearlized teal
enamel, then a wash of bronze acrylic and some
metallic dark purple. They look good--of course, with Jon's
scupting skills, they looked like Ba'Das ships in bare metal too.
