I don't normally bother with this sort of thing, but the item that I picked up
today is exceptional enough to motivate me. It is a cardboard building set,
produced by "21st Century Games". The set consists of nine sheet of
pre-cut card, which are put together to create a "Detnetion Camp".
The camp consists of four walls, arranged much like a medieval keep, with a
tower at each corner and two more framing the gate. In the center is a small
building, with a detailed interior of eight prison cells and a narrow hallway.
The building is scaled in true 25mm, and looks *great*. The retail price is
somewhere around $25.00 U.S. I'm going to be building more than a few
scenarios around it....
The company also produces several other buildings. The earlier ones are very
40Kish in style, but they appear to be getting away from that look. The only
other set that I saw (and purchased) today was the "Elevated
Monorailway"--215 cm length of track, with two platforms. Again quite
nice, and also destined to play a role in many scenarios.

More detail, please. Where're '21st Century Games' based? Got an address,
URL, email contact, something? These sound very cool - I do 15mm SG2,
but if I buy the 25mm buildings then visit my friendly local copy shop I'll
have 15mm buildings...(yes, this is technically illegal. But if I've bought
the things anyway, and don't plan on doing anything but one personal copy, I
don't see the problem.)
Even better, do they have any 15mm SciFi cardboard stuff?

Now *that* is a good idea. But no, they don't do 15mm. So far there are
only two lines--25mm SF, and 25mm Fantasy (in the latter line, they do a
Ziggurat that must be seen to be believed). Their URL is:
www.twentyfirstgames.com but I was unable to connect to it. On the other hand,
it was obtained through Alliance Distributors, and they have a page
at www.alliance-games.com

A German publisher sells both lines (SF & F) as well:

Thanks for the review -- I was looking at these just the other day in
the store. The thing is, you can't really tell what you are buying due to the
packaging. Sure, the artwork on the cover looks nice, but...
Actually, the artwork on the cover looked nice enough that I was going to give
it a try anyway, but now that I have a good review of the product I'll
definitely pick one up (if I have any money left after GZG ECC2!)

Okay, from what I remember of the SF kits, they add some lighting effects (and
wouldn't *that* be cool to actually add!), but it's a retouched photo of the
kit, not artwork! Ditto the back, and they might not've retouched
those. I picked up the two-part base/starport for two friends for
Christmas, but I haven't seen 'em yet since said friends are in Pittsburgh...
but I did watch a guy assemble the missile base.
*Very* cool. Not really the most useful of the kits IMO, but very cool
nonetheless.
Sorry, I sent it by mistake, without completing it

Had to look through some back issues piles but I found a reference to this
range. The makers are Italians (part of the 25th Edition... don't look at me
that way, I have no influence on how they choose their brand
names!!!)
but the products should be (or become) easily available out there, they tell
me.
They have a fantasy range, too.
Got an address,

Try to look for the main firm or ask the AD&D people, 25th Ed. should be
working on the Italian edition (they bought the rights for a number of US
rpg's) and maybe they know more.

No, for sure
