The recon by fire rules as stated do not allow any casualties as such, they
just add a suppression result. This won't actually even prevent the weasles
charging (but will definitely pi$$ them off)

Evil! Very evil! I fear the danger there is that could bring about
end-game
real quick, if two big groups charged, then it could be curtains for an entire
platoon.
What level did you put this test? How many aliens? And was this FMA or SGII?
Always curious
G'day,
> The recon by fire rules as stated do not allow any casualties
The key being as stated;)
For this kind of scenario you may want to "tweak that a little", give the
targets lots of shifts, but make it possible for a good/lucky shot to
catch one... say this represents tossing grenades rather than firing.

We had a lot fewer aliens to start with, when they're that mean you either
have to give the troopers time to shot them or be willing to lose a lot of
troopers and/or cut down on the number of aliens ;)
> What level did you put this test? How many aliens? And was
We've played SG and FMA with it. FMA game we ended up with 5 individual aliens
vs 10 humans (who buddied up, armoured up, got a tank...). In SG we had 2
"squads" of aliens with 3 aliens per squad. That worked out to be more than
enough vs 4 squads of humans in close terrain, in open terrain 3 (may be more)
would've been better.

Beth,
Thanks, that has given me some food for thought. Did you say they had a tank!
How woudl Aliens deal with a tank?

I don't recall a tank, but low-tech aliens might try jamming a log in
between wheels and treads, or (if GEV) find a depression, lie in it and jam
the fans (if they can figure out how GEVs work in the first place).
Of course, if the tank has lost all its accompanying crunchies and turns on
a close defense/reactive explosive armor system, you may have alien
salsa
when they get too close. But I think tank-vs-aliens would be
frustrating for both sides.

Depends on whose view of the aliens you're using. Mine had them trying to get
through hatches etc. Lachy's had them bleeding acid blood on the roof and then
just using that hole...;)

I can't remember if I mentioned it or not. I don't think I did (Richard is
obviously telepathic), but we have played using a tank and apcs vs aliens...
more a game in puzzle solving though;)

Ok, that's cool. Scary, but cool
G'day,
> No, you really did mention it (I just didn't quote from your post)
Well that just shows how good my memory isn't;)
