What do you use for SG2. I have 15mm and 6mm.

15mm and 6mm also.

I play SG2 (on the rare occasionas I do play) in 6mm only. There are a number
of reasons for this:
1) I'm rather visually oriented, and makign the figure scale the same as the
ground scale not only "feels right" but it also gives me a better picture of
what's happening.
2) I hate the fact that tanks in SG2 look like they can shoot over mountains.
Not to mention the fact that they take up so much!@#$@ table
space. :-)
3) Much quicker to paint. I love the GZG 6mm stuff, with only a bit of
modification you can make command officers, snipers, medics, etc and they're
all more-or-less recognizable up close at least.

I would probably play 6mm, but I could not figure out how to base an
infantryman so that they stand up.
For DS2 I place 3 on a penny.

15mm and 25mm for I.

25mm only for me and the group in Dublin, although a couple of my friends
experimented with 6mm:
They were travelling to a con on a train, and they made a small board covered
in thin foam. Each of the 6mm figures had a spike coming out of the base and
thus everything remained in place. Some flock did as whole forests I believe.
(they used the same ground/figure scale ratio as 25mm)
I dubbed this version TravelGrunt

I use 25mm and 15mm. I don't have a problem with the figure scale to ground
scale difference. I like the look of 25mm figures, and they work really well
with skirmish games. I'd probably have gone entirely 15mm to start, but there
weren't the full range of figures there are now. I'm in the middle of
kitbashing more vehicles, and usually go 15mm when a lot of vehicles are on
the table, to save space.

For SG I use 25mm. For the modern skirmish game we're working on here,
I'll be using 15mm figures, to get a better ground scale - figure scale
factor. 6mm would technically be better, but I enjoy painting 15mm a whole lot
more.
Cheers,

6mm washers work well and are fairly inexpensive.

They work great--a little big, but since this ain't
Napoleonics, you shouldn't have to bunch your guys up to the point that this
matters. Figure about half the size of a US or Canadian cent.
After all, now that they've gone to the Euro, they
have to do _something_ with those things.[1]

6mm for Dirtside
15mm and 25mm for Stargrunt
plus occasional usage of 28/33mm uberfigures since everoyone else has
them
And I am wondering if 54mm would be workable for FMASK, since so many of my
freinds are doing Inquisitor
25mm
but I just bought some 15mm and am really, really impressed...
I use 25mm, though I buy 15mm for my friends in Kingston.
15mm would be better, I think 6mm is still too darn small. But the 15mm range
isn't as expansive as the 25mm range and 25mm still looks good for
paintjobs. Besides, once you have 500+ 25mm figs and 40 or so vehicles,
it doesn't make sense to change scale. Starting anew, I'd have went 15mm
because of the ubiquity of good 1/72 and 1/87 and 1/100th scale kits for
scratchbuilds. Plus you can get 64 15mm figs from Jon for the price of 24 25mm
guys. That's a real force multiplier. And if you get a 15mm
Civet from DLD, it has about 15-20 parts.... the 25mm equivalent must
have about 100!
And Mr.Pope, I'm of the considered opinion you could convert 0.5mm figures and
make them look fantastic. For those of us with less talent, figure conversions
for 6mm nubbins will be more than a little troublesome.

Point taken, and compliment appreciated!
To tell the truth, I did scratchbuild a log raft in 1/1200 scale (a
generous 1.5mm figure scale) complete with little multicolored nubs for the
castaways (blue bottom, white top, bit of flesh tone for the face, little red
cap).
Never claimed I was perfectly sane... :-)

54mm? HAH! Be a real man and play in 1/6th scale :)
But seriously, 54mm would be fine.
I have enough 25mm NAC and NSL troops to have the two go at it with under
strength platoons. I also have a smattering of FSE and ESU naval troops (in a
purely advisory capacity of course) I also have a lot of GW 40K stuff from
before I saw the error of my ways (a lot of which is cast in lead, to show how
long ago that was).
I am slowly assembling a 15mm force to play some Gear Krieg/Weird War2
games with SG2. I currently have a bag of British paratroopers and a DP9
PzKpf V walker. At the rate I am going I will have enough miniatures for
that in about, oh, five years or so.
I have a bunch of 6mm and near 6mm stuff (Battletech vehicles and infantry),
but the infantry is all based for DS2 (25mm washers and pennies). Nothing that
couldn't be taken care of with some house rules and squad strength dice, but I
don't have a like minded opponent with a DS2
army...
I have 6 mm microarmour only. The only 15 mm and 20/25 mm I have are
ancients.
> I have enough 25mm NAC and NSL troops to have the two go at it with
As for what I got please note I've been collecting since 1976 so have amassed
a bit... I have about 400 (guess only) 25 mm Sci-fi troops of various
manufacturers, and about 50 ground vehicles.
In 15mm have allot more do to collecting ROCO Mini tanks and others for years.
Most of that is NATO and US stuff and allot of conversions about 600 vehicles
and a large amount of troops.
Thank god for SGII, I got this stuff with the idea of making my own rules one
day thankfully that is no longer necessary....)

Nah - I got rid of my GIJoe figures 20 years ago. :>
But 1/12 is good (we used to do Shockforce with it). You've got all the
action figures to use - Starcraft, Final Fantasy, and B5 stuff is still
about $1US apiece at Toys'R'Us. And they're so many other lines,
including a modern/near future line of soldiers that run about 50 cents
apiece.

Lots of good stuff in that scale now days. Saw an M-8 greyhound with
two crew, very tempting...

25mm for me too.
The thought of 15mm makes sense for SG, and I have a bunch of 15mm WWII figs
(Brits for the time being, but gonna get some Wermacht) that I'm going
to do for 15mm SG and/or Gear Krieg.
But I've got... hmmm... over 9 platoons of *painted* 25mm Stargrunt figures
- no way I'm going back... (not to mention the *unpainted* stuff -
maybe 8 platoons worth either at home or on the way from Jon after his *evil*
year-end sale)
I like the aesthetics of 25mm more than the other scales, more than anything
else.

I have been collecting the 21st Century 32x stuff for a bit and it all just
went on sale at Toys R Us. Great looking vehicles (WW-II) at good
prices.
