[SG2] Quick Reference Sheet?

Subject: [SG2] Quick Reference Sheet?

I finally got to play StarGrunt at GZG-ECC and had a great time (thanks
Tomb). After actually playing it, I tried to read the rules again and am

still stymied by what I find to be a very peculiar flow to the rules (I had no
such problem figuring out FT and DS2 from the rules). Does anyone have a good
Quick Reference sheet for SG2 in electronic format? I've toyed with

making one myself, but I figure someone must have already done the job.
Anyone?

Thanks, Martin Connell

SG2's layout does take a bit of getting used to, but it's also the most
complex of the three rulessets.

Alan Goodall produed a very good index for SG2:

Worth the download!

WRT a quick ref sheet, the Ref Card that comes with the book is pretty
complete. It's not in any particular order, but all the basics are there. Only
thing it doesn't have is page numbers so you can look the complete rule up
quicker.

The rule book comes with a quick reference sheet. Did you not have that?

I created a five page reference sheet for SG2 (three sheets, double printed on
two) but I don't give it out as it has ALL the rules for SG2, and you don't
need the rulebook if you use the sheet.

That IS one thing I added to my own 5 page of reference sheets. All the rules
have page listings beside them. I may, or may not, get energetic enough to
create a duplicate of Jon's sheet with page numbers...

Ahh, there is the rub. I only have a rulebook and counters. I bought the rules
shortly after their release (at the late, lamented Jenkintown Hobbies in
Pennsy. And yes, I couldn't figure out the flow of the game so it's been on my
shelf for over 5 years), was the Ref Card always included or was that a later
addition? As I recall the book was shrink wrapped with shrink wrapped counters
shoved in the middle of the book. No Ref Sheet...

I bought a copy of the book when it first came out and it had the reference
card. I bought a second copy later, as the first was getting ratty, I wanted a
second set of counters, and it's always good to have two copies at a
convention. It, too, had the reference card.

Either it was a problem in packaging, or someone had re-shrink wrapped
the game and lost the card.

You still in the area? PAGE (Philadelphia Area Gaming Enthusiasts) meets in
Center City on Sunday evenings, and there are more than a few GZG players
involved. We played a game of DSII last weekend, in fact.

No, I'm in North Jersey. Phili is 2 hours away.

I have a gaming friend who lives near Doylestown. Whenever we would get
together to game there was usually a "warm up" trip to Jenkintown. They were
also my favorite vendor at ColdWars and Historicon. It's just a crime against
God and Man when a failed marriage can kill a succesful hobby shop. Regards,

If the counters were shrinkwrapped themselves and then put into the book (and
the whole lot wrapped again), then yes, someone had opened it and been
fiddling with it! A fresh original copy should have just one shrinkwrapping
round the whole thing, with the counters (2 sheets) and the ref sheet inserted
loose either into the centre or the back of the book. (But anyone ordering a
copy direct from us now should note that it will
come in a griptop bag rather than a shrinkwrap - we're out of the
original wrapped copies here!).

I am getting ready to transfer to Atlantic City, NJ on 15 April. I will be
asking for more information about PAGE at that time.

More to it than that, but not my story to tell. Bob's back in business,
though, as Tony noted earlier. Still haven't been to his shop yet; damn this
real life stuff!
