Subject: SG2 Help with swarm psychology
I need some help with swarm psychology in SG2, what do you think the best way to represent it is? Organization is as fallows Leader and Second in command(2nd is human hybrid) they are the brain of the hive, the Leader is the center, the 2nd strengthens his influence where needed and can take over in a limited fashion if he is killed. Aliens, linked to hive mind, capable of thinking on their own if the hive mind is out of contact or dies Alien human hybrids and infected humans, under complete control of the hive mind, with out it chances are half of them would go insane and most of them wouldn't be able to fight What do you think the best way to represent this is in game terms? My though was to only give a confidence level to the Alien Leader and use it for all of the squads. Force him to test under certain circumstances, like losing a squad, etc. My basic thought is that the army's confidence doesn't fall except under very harsh conditions. You'd have to route the entire army to turn it back, not one squad at a time. Unless you can kill which ever hive mind element is on table, then the entire army, with the exception of a few independants, would fall apart. If he is the Leader and the 2nd is on table, there would be some type of a roll for taking over. Any other ideas?
