Just an odd idea (somehow, Mr.Beast must have infected me... odd ideas are
usually his forte).

I base my SG2 figs on pennies. Works well. But I thought an interesting option
might be to try to acquire appropriate low value coinage from each realm and
base the figures accordingly

(ie NAC on Canadian and US Pennies, maybe some British Pence if they are big
enough).

Is this idea feasible? It'd be kinda cool to turn
over my OUDF to the Oz/NZ equivalent of a
penny (which might well be a penny!) or to flip over my NSL and find pfennigs
or whatever the appropriate coinage is.

My one fear about this idea is that some nations (Netherlands come to mind)
use coins so darn small I'd probably have to go to a fair value of coin to
manage.

Anyone care to suggest appropriate coins for: 1) NSL 2) OUDF 3) NI 4) FSE

Of course, the KV are gonna be a b*tch to get coins for.... (unobtainium
kopins are hard to get here in Ottawa).

:)

BTW - If this is a federal crime of some sort in
your area, my apologies. Far as I've ever been
able to determine, it is the only _valid_ use for

Now why would our coinage be too damn small? Mmm? Mm?;)

In fact, the 5 cents coin is perfect for basing figures on; I use them for my
25mm SF and 20mm skirmish figs.

It is a crime over here. Guilty.

I've got a lot of GW Epic scale minis based on pennies - can't beat the
price. And if anyone complains - call it artwork and you get (In the US
anyway) a 1st Amendment defence. I have a couple of Old Glory 15mm ACW
casualties mounted on plain coins - with bloodstain. It's a little
morbid but an honest commentary - and my mother finally started to see
some artistic value to my hobby.

For my part what ever works best for you is great, I've seen lots of pennies
on the games table. For my self I base my stuff on washers that you can get at
a hardware store by the gross......cheap and more

G'day Tom,

> Just an odd idea

You said it;)

> I base my SG2 figs on pennies. Works well. But I

Boy some of those figs are going to have bases worth more than they are
;P

> Is this idea feasible? It'd be kinda cool to turn

Well we long since abolished 1c pieces and they were nowhere near big enough
anywhere. Best bet these days would be a 20c piece (or 10c at a
pinch) - 5c is our smallest current denomination and it'd be way too
small!

> BTW - If this is a federal crime of some sort in

Well I think its a crime here too, which is amazing seeing how much the Aussie
dollar ain't worth these days!

Cheers
