Subject: [SG]Speaking of Nanotech, was The Nanite Revolution
Sorry, I know it's an old thread. Just wanted to mention one of the most interesting Military SF uses for Nanos I ever encountered. It was in the book "Side Show" by Rick Shelley. The technology was called a "Soaker." It was a large gauze bandage, treated with antibiotics and anesthetic, IIRC, but also embedded with Nanobots. These little guys were programmed to go in, get the shrapnel, bring it to the surface where it could be removed, and also start working on repairing tissue damage. Quite an interesting idea. I don't think it would affect game play at all, but you could use it as the PSB for your medics....
