By this do you mean you played SG2 using 6mm figures with 25mm movement and
weapon ranges? I haven't got my SG2RB to hand and I can't remember the ground
scale.

While I haven't played SG2, I have played original WH40K with 6mm figs and
loved it - I used 1"= 1cm ground scale which worked for me :)
The 72cm range of Missile Launchers was fun, and a small table (for 25mm
figs) comes into its own. Apart from the _big_ advantage in the cost of
building up forces, you can have great fun customising squads - I made
some
_very_ pretty (IMHO) Eldar Hawk (?)Aspect Warriors before GW made theirs
by cutting out wings from thin acetate and glueing them into slits cut in the
back of the basic Eldar fig:)

Playing with 6mm figs also has a wonderful effect on terrain availability
and options. One game I played in stands out in my memory - it had a
scrolling table. The GM prepared a scenario which involved a pursuit through a
winding ravine. As we sped off one end of the table, he transported the
terrain across the table and set up the next length of ravine and repositioned
troops as needed. IIRC I crossed 3 tables of ravine before I hit the enemy
base. Happily my rhinos made it through heavy defensive fire to disgorge their
Joker Chapter Marine cargo into the base. We also managed to knock out the
screen generators, allowing our glorious ships to pound the the area to
dust 8-) And before you ask, the chapter colour scheme was black, dry
brushed purple with a joker face on the shoulder pad, and the sergeants were
wont to have white skin, red lips, and bright green hair.
