Table top games has a wide variety of (not so detailed) 15mm figures.

I assume you're referring to their Laserburn range, in which case I have
to disagree - especially given the price of their figures (12p each
IIRC). The not-2000AD law enforcement officers are great figures, and
most of the figures are pretty good. The main problem for SG2 is that most of
the military figures (as opposed to the civilians) are in full
armour to a greater or lesser extent - there are few (if any) SG2 style
figures in partial armour or battledress.

Our very own St St St Jon of GZG does, although he doesn't advertise
them... There are two packs only, one NAC squad & one ESU squad - each
has
6 riflemen, 1 SAW, and one GMS/L trooper. These are very, very nice
figures - as good or better than the GZG 25mm SG2 stuff. They're about
1.75 BPS per pack.

I haven't seen Tabletop's stuff, but it's supposed to be quite nice, and does
include the only SF 15mm police, starship crews, and other specialists, as
well as a load of regular troop types.

Irregular Minis have a small range of 15mm SF - they're chunky, a bit
rough, but they paint up into pretty good heavy PA - and they're cheap.

Stan Johansen Miniatures has a 15mm SF range, including a whole lot of
15mm SF vehicles - again, I haven't seen these in person, but they're
supposed to be pretty good, and the pictures on the website look good.

FreiKorp 15 has a small 15mm SF line - 'Aliens' style marines &
'aliens', including facehuggers... supposed to be nice as well.

I have longer reviews of the GZG & Irregular figures on my website, in the
Stargrunt section - see my sig for the URL. I also have a link to Stan
Johansen's site, which does have pics of all the 15mm SF stuff he makes.

Hope this helps!

Peter Pig also has a 15mm SF range - several types of human troops,
colonists, and some aliens. I've got a pair of their dropships, which are
pretty good - very well cast, even if some of the detail is goofy, but
that's fixable. PP has a webpage - see my site for that URL.

There, I think that's everyone...did I leave anyone out?

Hope you do decide to get into 15mm SG2 - it's the best scale to do it
in,
I believe. Cheaper, and the figure-to-ground scale issue isn't as bad -
the table looks a lot less cramped. There's a lot of figures out there as
well, if you know where to look!

One more 15mm bit, just to throw it out there. While seeing how much I could
have potentially recieved for the old toys that I threw away years ago, I ran
across an auction of the Galactic Grenadiers" boxed set from Ral Partha. It
contains 12 guys in full armor, and 28 just in uniforms and kepis. The GGs
themselves are fantastic figures. These were the only figures, along with some
old Traveller stuff that a friend of mine picked up on a trip to Canada, that
survived my 15mm purge. At $5.00, it's worth checking out.

Also, Simtac sells some Insectoid Aliens -- three types -- in their
1/300
line that are 15mm scale. I suppose that they are meant to be giant aliens,
but they are bipeds who seem to be perfectly sized with my remaining 15mms.

Well, the one I picked up on eBay ended up at $12, with $5 shipping, still
didn't seem a bad by.

Have a look at their Modern Africa range too. The range is mostly made
up of generic figures i.e. Regular infantry in beret with AK-47, and the
like.

inquistor is running auctions for Galatic Grenadiers and for Final Frontier,
both Ral Partha 15mm SF figure sets. I bought a set of GG from him about three
weeks ago and they are nice 15mm figures with good detail. I suspect he has
more sets if he is submitting them regularly to ebay.

Geohex doesn't carry them - you'll have to order direct from GZG in the
UK. (Aside to KR & Jon: Any chance of getting some of those 15mm molds into
KR's casting shop? Even better, any expansion plans for this range?)

Jon has an email address - which I no longer have with me - but he is on
this list.

Best to start by contacting Jon - sorry I don't have his email address
around!

Iquisitor (the eBay alias for The Last Grenadier) is a company - sounds
like a game store, but that's only my impression from what they sell
and what they've said on the phone - so I suspect they've got several
copies :-/

I've bought several items from them recently; so far I've only got
praise for their fast service :-)

I've done business with Iquisitor via eBay (Star Viking!!!). They're good, but
use slow shipping (a week from SoCal to NorCal). Last grenadier is one of the
older game stores, they've been around for at least 15 years.

Phooey. So you're the one who got Star Viking.

I've got an old copy of it. I think that the tile based movement system is
very innovative, and would lend itself admirably to a computer based system. I
like how you can go anywhere within an "orbit line", but have to move to the
deep space box on the line in order to jump to an adjacent orbit. It makes a
nice choke point where you can station a holding force.

All in all a very nice game in a small package. A pity that Dwarfstar Games is
long gone.

Grav Armor is good as well. I'm trying to obtain a copy of Star Smuggler.

With Grav Armor, it is incredible how a change to

It's got very clean rules all around. The tile-based maps are under
consideration for other campaign games as well. All I need is a good algorithm
to generate them randomly.

I'll have to see when their copyright's expire.

> Grav Armor is good as well. I'm trying to obtain

Grav Armor is an old favorite, although rather bloody. I rmemeber several
games where one side "won" with the last 2 or 3 units on the map. GA is a
classic, even had orbital drop rules.
