Does anyone know what the composition of the 15mm Stargrunt figures are? The
regular troops come 8 to a pack and the PA 6 to a pack. The only picture on
the catalog web site is http://www.gtns.net/gzg/images/sg15-n1.jpg
supposedly of NSL regular infantry. The picture only shows 6 figures. Of these
I would guess that these are either 3 rifle troops, 1 PIG, 1 GAC, and
1 SAW or 3 rifle, 1 GSM/P, 1 PIG, and 1 SAW.
I would like to know: 1) what these are really supposed to be? 2) what the 2
unpictured figures are (rifle probably)? 3) what is the composition of the PA
pack? 4) does it change by nationality?

While you're at it, how do these figures rate on the Barret scale, or how do
they compare to, say, Peter Pig, the old Citadel 15mm Travellers, or
Brian,
Of the packs I bought they all seemed to be:
1 GSM/P
1 SAW 6 Rifles
Some of the Rifles could be used as squad leaders. The bags I received had a
nice mix of poses too.
Jeremy Sadler placed a scan I did on his website:
http://www.stargrunt.com/cgi-bin/newspro/viewnews.cgi?newsall
Go to the bottom of the page and click the picture. The first two lines are
the old 15mm NAC and ESU troops. The next three lines are some of the new 15mm
figures. Each line is one bag of eight.

The Barrett scale is a less subjective way to rate miniatures size, with terms
like 25mm becoming a very vague definition anymore. From the Courier magazine,
which uses it in their figure reviews:
"The Courier uses the Tobey Barrett Measurements System (BM) to simplify the
comparison of figure sizes one to another. Briefly the number is the height in
Millimeters from the bottom of the figure's foot (top of the base) to it's
eye. The letter refers to the "heft" of the figure: L = Light; M = Medium;;
and H = Heavy. H will fit well with other H and somewhat with M but not at all
with L even in the same scale. thus a 27 M is a larger 25mm figure of Medium
Heft."
Note that the heft portion of the scale is still subjective, but overall the
Barrett scale does a pretty decent job of classifying

I've never noticed before, but this picture is a bit of a mish-mash of
figures.
Only the centre two figures are NSL (a grunt and the SAW gunner). The right
hand two are FSE (grunt and SAW gunner again). I'm not sure of the left two,
until I get home and check my unpainted collection I can't be
sure. They _might_ be UNSC.

I reviewed the SG2 15mm range for the SFSFW's 'Ragnarok' society magazine, so
I have most of the packs. The NSL, NAC and ESU infantry
packs are all the same - squad leader, 5 grunts in two different poses,
SAW and GMS/P. The FSE are slightly different in that they have no
obvious SL, but instead have 6 grunts (two each of three poses). The PA packs
are all the same, a command suit, two standard suits, two suits with grenade
packs and one suit with heavy weapon. All PA figures are
the same pose, the specialist suits have extra weapons / gear added to
the basic casting.
I took some scans of some of the packs whilst writing the review - as a
(very) temporary measure, I've uploaded them to the Brigade site ( I can't get
at my personal site from work) so anyone interested can have a look.
I havn't had time to knock together an html page and there's no link
from the rest of the site - just a directory with images of the NAC, NSL
and FSE infantry packs plus the NAC and FSE PA packs.

Yes, that pic is a mix of two figs each from the first three packs we
did -
NSL, FSE and UNSC. We've just shot the pictures for the new catalogue, a
separate photo of each pack showing all 8 figs (6 for PA) including the
duplicates, so you will see exactly what you get. These pics will be forwarded
to Paul Owen for the major update of the online catalogue in due course, but
this may take a little while to do so don't expect to see them in the next few
days!! In general, each pack of light infantry consists of 1 NCO, 1 SAW, 1
GMS(P) and a mix of 5 riflemen (usually 2 of one and 3 of the other from 2
different poses). The PA packs have an NCO, a SAW, and 4 standard suits with
hand weapons, 2 of which have shoulder missile packs.
