Hmmm...

There are more than 1 Billion Muslims in the world, many of them do not live
in countries that have officially Islamic rule. Nor are more than a minority
of Muslims radical in the vein of Chomeini, bin Laden, the Sauds and co. So
how come you claim that 'fundamentalism is the mainstream interpretation of
that religion'? Could you cite public opinion polls to that effect?

And those 'Christian' fundamentalists I am familiar with, all claim to follow
the original precepts (even if their claims may not be accurate) and they
certainly are rigid and intolerant.

I'm not sure which I find more scary: the fact that I'm about to lose a
kidney, or that I'm in total agreement with notes by John and Laser, one
right after the other. ;->=

Kind of depends on whether it's the first or second kidney you're losing...

To lose both seems like carelessness.

All I know is that Muslims were dancing in the streets on September 11th 2001
from Indonesia to Morrocco.

Uhhh... that's getting into a theological argument I really don't feel like
getting into. If you want my opinion, bug me offlist. All I'm saying publicly
is that those people's knowledge of Church history is so grossly deficient it
would be funny if it weren't my beliefs they are exposing to public ridicule.

Sure. But were they a *majority*, or a small but highly visible (because

they were out in the streets *in front of the cameras*, while the rest of the
population were not) *minority*? My money is on the latter.

Put it like this: I'm pretty sure that you could get very good pics of huge
lots of USAmericans dancing in the streets in lots of places all over your
country after the baseball league finals, and I know for certain that you can
get pictures of massed jubilant fans from all over the world after the
football ("soccer" to you) world championships... but that does not mean

that the vast majority of the population is out dancing, or even interested
in the sports in question :-/

As I've been hearing that my early foolishness with tobacco may be involved,
the first may well be considered carelessness.

However, with a certain M.A.S.H. episode in mind, I made quite certain the
other one is functional and not to be lost. ;->=

I just wish I could remember why those lines sound so familiar...

I suppose I COULD have said no to the procedure, but I've been convinced it's
an appropriate action. I wish I could claim heroic sacrifice for another, but
it's strictly a selfish act.

As for your sympathies, they are well appreciated. But, I'm already assuming
everyone's best wishes.
