In the recent issue of White Dwarf(WD 225), they have a prototype set of rules
for Battlefleet Gothic, totalling eight pages. They also have stiff paper
cutouts for the ships. They placed these rules as prototypes, and this is
what I've seen-
*They have only two groups of ships-Imperial and Chaos. Combat appears
to be of the "ships of the line" theory-most ships have large gunlines
with a small forward armorment. Imperial ships have torpedoes and Chaos ships
mount more gunline weapons. They also have "lances" to deliver direct damage,
unstopped by shields. *Ships use unmapped movement, and always have to move
unless special commands are issued. Combat is resolved by the orientation of
the ship(Closing, Abeam, Astern), the firepower of the weapons, and the number
of dice. Each dice has to beat the armor rating of a ship to do damage. Lances
and torpedos do damage differently, with the ability to pierce armor(lances)
or to be shot down by turrets(torpedoes).
*Combat is turn-based.
Any questions? Jon

One of the GW stores run Games Clubs turned up for Gen Con UK and they had a
(Photo) copy of Andy Chamber's full rules (v1.3 IIRC) left lying around which
I perused. There's more stuff in the works I can promise, a
_lot_ more than 8 pages. Unfortunately I can't remember any of the
details now, since many of my brain cells have been deadened by the copious
quantities of alcohol consumed during Gencon.
