Hi all,
I had a letter a couple of days ago from our ex-Listfuhrer, Jon White -
sadly Jon hasn't resubbed to the new list location yet, because he had a nasty
road accident just after Christmas and is still recovering. I don't have any
more details, but he asked me to post this message just to let everyone know
what is going on, and why we haven't had any posts from him recently.

You know, this scares me a little. I hope the good karma from some of the

Jon W. should be happy he wasn't the admin at the time of the accident. The
extra jinx might have been enough to push him over the edge.
But I do hope he recovers. If anyone has more words from him I'm sure they'll
post them here.
Ground spake thusly upon matters weighty:

Please convey to Jon W the best regards of the list.

*whew* For a sec I thought I was experiencing deja vu, but Jon White announced
yesterday his accident, and said something about typing with one hand.
'...on
the mend, thanks for asking.
Jonathan, I'm assuming you will be looking at the list from time to time; no
need to reply, given the difficulties of one-handed typing. ;->= But
continued best wishes on continued mending! Consider this a list 'hip hip
hoorah' by three.
Oh, and Matthew? Don't sweat it: list non-admins suffer plenty of car
accidents, as I can too readily attest personally as of a few years ago. I'd
say your karma is doing just fine.

Hey, cool, does this mean my catalogue's in the post then:)? As it turns out I
was cleared to return to work a few days after I sent the letter to GZG, which
I wasn't expecting. It turns out my according to my GP, far from my arm
needing rest he actually thinks typing (or trying to type) with it will be
good physiotherapy..

Thanks for the thoughts everyone.

... "taking the mickey"? I assume you're not talking about Disney's mouse.

Um no. I guess this ties into the language thread yeh?:). In the UK 'Taking
the mickey' is a phrase for ribbing or joking at someone's expense. The less
polite version is Taking somthing else.
