I came across a copy of the "Dirtside" rules online last week while surfin
Full Thrust links. It was the official rule set and was a free PDF download. I
was at work at the time however and somehow forgot to email myself the
link. Now try as I might I can't seem to track down the site that had this
copy of the rules. Does anyone know this site by chance, and can post the link
here for me?
Also are the Star Grunt rules still available for purchase? and if so, where
about can I order a copy online?

On the official GZG store website, under Downloads. Don't thank me; Jon's
generosity.

Also on the same site, under Rules. Thank Jon with twelve pounds plus
whatever. ;->=

Hi,
If someone has put up the full version of Dirtside as a free PDF, they're
doing it illegally and busting GZG's copyright, so finding the site would be a
good thing...
Stargrunt II is still available online from Jon Tuffley at GZG. You can
find their store at:
www.gzg.com
He does great service, wherever you are in the world.
Replying to myself...
> If someone has put up the full version of Dirtside as a free PDF,
Unless, of course, it is the actual GZG store page with the free download...
As I should have mentioned...
Jon put DS up for download @ a year ago.

Actually, I was surprised, but figured I'd have a look, as Jon was
dum...
er, incredibly benevolent with More Thrust. Obviously, his original posting
had slipped my mind.
Jon, now don't go slapping yourself with an infringement suit... ;->=

The wording on the site gave the impression that it was 100% legit. Course
that from memory.
So is this site Jon is running have a "legit"copy of Dirtside for download. If
it isn't i'd be happy to pay for a PDF version. Almost prefer PDF's of all the
FT,Stargrunt and Dirtside Rules. Then I can stick em in a binder and add in my
house rules as I please.

Take a peek at the downloads section of www.gzg.com (when you enter the store)
(try at http://www.gtns.co.uk/store1/commerce.cgi?page=downloads.html)
If that is the site you saw before, then yep it's a legit download. And
for free...

If it wasn't the GZG store than it was probably my site:

Wasn't somebody working on a more readable Word version?

On the GZG web store site, _http://www.gtns.co.uk/store1/_

Uh, same place.

That would be nice.
And since you're open to downloading things at the moment, look around and
find yourself a decent Dirtside vehicle generator. There's one at my website
here:
http://home.comcast.net/~kudby/ds.html
...written in MS Excel, and there are a few others floating around the Web.
Including one that you use right through your web browser, if I recall.
HTH,

Sorry, thought I'd made it clear; Jon, in this case, is Jon Tuffley, owner of
GZG, author, with Mike Elliot, of DSII, saint of... *ahem* Nevermind...
As an aside, it's Jon's site, but run by Paul Owen, who gets s**t whenever new
piccies aren't up immediately with the announcement of new goods,
whether or no he's received new piccies to put up. ;->=

I also notice the catalog to download here is from 2002 (3 years old) is there
a 2005 version? or a latest UPDATE (they used to be sent out by email)
That's because we haven't done a full new catalogue since 2002; we do
regularly issue update sheets to add all the new items, and I try to
get these to Paul Owen to put up as PDFs as soon as I can - the
latest one (Feb 2005, which covers almost everything except the new ESU ships
and the latest couple of 15mm releases) should be up on the downloads page.
Replacing the complete catalogue would be a major job that I don't have time
to do right now, and since the existing version is still
valid (prices have not altered) it is a fairly low-priority task.
Eventually we'll get one done, but until then we'll simply keep issuing
updates to keep everything current.
Yes, therel used to be a mailing list for latest updates, but I think
the file got lost in a system crash some while ago - Paul, any chance
of re-instating this so that folks can sign up for it again?

You can also look at http://www.star-ranger.com/Home.htm , which Dean
obsessively updates :-)

I'm not *twitch* obsessive *twitch* *twitch*
I only have the updates for GZG's Full Thrust items though as I am a vac head
and there is more than enough happening in the world of space combat
games to keep me busy. If anyone wants to start an SCN-like page for
sci-fi
grount combat games and miniatures, I'll give them some pointers :-)
